Overview

Book online 1st May to 15th October OR 1st April to 31st October at our office at Agias Mavris 60, Ayia Napa.

Embark on a journey to Famagusta, a city steeped in history and culture. The open-top Red Bus offers the perfect vantage point to view the fascinating ancient city. Our English-speaking guides provide running live commentary, making this the most fun way to see a bit more of Cyprus and enjoy a day out.

The city of Famagusta is dotted with ruins, relics, and interesting architecture, with plenty to see. Take some free time to explore the old town with its wealth of historic buildings. Wander down narrow lanes lined with cafes and bars or relax with a Turkish coffee in sun-dappled backstreets.

Leaving the old walled city, our next stop on the tour is the gorgeous golden sands of Constantia Beach. Turtles are often seen in this area, and snorkels and masks are provided for anyone who wishes to swim in the crystal-clear waters. An underwater camera is also available for use.

The beach is right next to the barbed wire fence separating the ghost town of Varosha from the modern world. Witness for yourself the sad remnants of this once bustling tourist hotspot. Famagusta used to be known as the jewel of the Mediterranean, with glamorous visitors and famous people from all over the world flocking here for its nightlife, gourmet restaurants, luxury hotels, and beach life. Since the invasion in 1974, Varosha, the tourist part of Famagusta, has been fenced off, left to rot, and be reclaimed by nature.

The excursion has since won TripAdvisor’s certificate of excellence many times. It is regularly voted one of the best excursions available on the East Coast of Cyprus. This excursion is highly recommended.

Pick up time is at 09:00 in Ayia Napa or 9:30 in Protaras and arrive at 16:00 – 16:30.
